Due to popular demand we are offering beginner , advanced beginner and intermediate lessons on Thursday nights. Check the information on this website under "AAA salsa lessons " Latin night at the Flying Dog is on again as of January 7/10 !! Salsaontario.com will not hold the 7:30 paid lesson on January 7th , 14th , 21st but the FREE club lesson will go ahead that night. Regular Salsaontario Beginner, Advance Beginner and Intermediate classes will resume on January 28th . The Beginner workshop held on November 21st was a roaring success !! A big thank you to all of those new dancers who came out to the beginner "bootcamp" workshop "YOU TOO CAN SALSA" , spearheaded by Hugh McCreadie and taught by Christina Stavrou and Pat Gillies. It was a jam packed afternoon for about 30 participants who were eager to learn the basics of salsa. It was tons of fun, with cool exercises and lots of time to practice the new skills . Participants gave good feedback and were thrilled to be able to dance an entire salsa song , with a few simple combinations , by the end of the afternoon. An extra special thank you to all of the intermediate dancers and students who took time from their day to volunteer as helpers. You know who you are and we thank you very much ! The workshop was a fundraiser for the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival and the Belize Carbon Remove Society and all proceeds went to these two deserving groups. Stay tuned for our next workshop adventure !! Here's what is coming up ! As always, you know the Flying Dog on Marsland Drive in Waterloo is THE place to be every Thursday nights ! Dance the night away to the amazing music of DJ Kruz. The FREE club lesson is at 8:30. Come out to learn salsa in the new year ......Beginner, Advanced Beginner and Intermediate classes every Thursday night , starting January 28th . Also in the works.............plans are underway to organize a "salsa social practice" on a Saturday afternoon in January or February . The Button Factory is the likely venue , with the idea being for all levels of dancers to come out and enjoy a couple of hours of practice with different partners. It will be a relaxing, fun environment in which to work on new moves, meet new partners and just enjoy the company of other salsa lovers ! Stay tuned for more on this ............ Mark your calendar for the first Latin Fiesta of the year at Ebar on Wednesday , January 6th. Located on Quebec Street in Guelph, Ebar hosts this once a month Latin night on the first Wednesday of the month , with DJ Gury Gury playing some of the best salsa you have ever heard ! Guelph is the place to be this week ...............Guelph Guggenheim, 129B Woolwich Street , is the area's newest hot spot for salsa. DJ Gury Gury plays salsa almost non stop and the NEW floor and sound system are amazing ! The next dance at the Button Factory , hosted by Carlos, is being held on Saturday, January 9th at 8pm , 25 Regina St. South, Waterloo. Argentine Tango class at 8:15pm. On Thursday, January 21st , check out the live band Cache at the Ebar in Guelph and then on Saturday , January 23rd come to the afternoon of workshops, followed by a salsa social featuring top DJ's from around the world ! A great selection of workshops will be available in the afternoon , taught by some great salsa teachers. ......all of this takes place in Guelph for the unbelievable price of $40 !!
